Byakuyakou - Journey Under Midnight Sun

Image
Okaaaay, we're back on JDorama track. Yay, I'm so glad I chose Byakuyakou as the first JDorama that I would watch after all this long. It's a depressing, somewhat insane and a bit creepy if you come to think about it. Exactly my taste. Honestly I stumbled upon this one after a thorough search for Into The White Night, a Korean movie starred Go Soo (the ganteng guy from Will It Snow For Christmas) and Sohn Ye Jin (Personal Taste). See picture below. Had no idea about what the plot was, at least at first, but then I read somewhere that /that/ movie was a remake from a very successful 2006 JDorama, Byakuyakou. So here I am, after only /TWO/ days of watching it and felt very content with the plot, the characters, the insane crimes they commit, etc etc. Byakuyakou (Journey Under Midnight Sun) is a movie about two people, a boy and a girl, who committed a crime when they were just 11 years old, ladies and gentleman. And it's a murder crime, not some Lilo-shoplifting-...

Recently, I took lots and lotsa cabs for a home ride. In result, can't argue that sometimes you indeed would prefer one cab than the other, and in my case, it would be Trans Cab. Okay, I admit, I used to be in love with Taxi Putra cause.. I dunno.. they sorta suited my mood, not too expensive, not too color-bright and it's pretty secure. Blue Bird. Hmm, next. Express taxi, standard choice, but ever since they promoted (?) new line of car, that new Limo or sumtin, (somehow) I always end up in the old version one. I had trouble distinguishing the old and the new version of Taxi Express /plus/ I got this bad sighting (and hearing actually, but that's totally unrelated) /and/ there are only three types of car for me (Kijang, Sedan, Kotak).. so yeah.. Express is not really my favorite. Trans cab, in the other hand, is this cute orange taxi, with its cable TV and stuff, and (my personal favorite) that lil screen showing your name on it (only when you order one, though). So cute...

Harry Potter syndrome

In order to welcome the latest and the last *sob* Harry Potter fiesta this year (yeah well, part 1, that is), I indulge myself into long lost obsession of the cast pictures... you know, like my own version of "Where are they now"-show... Huhuhuhu, gonna miss them so freakin much.. Rupert Grint Now emerge as the hunky-bulky-tally buddy version of Ronald Weasley, he and the other member of the movie had somehow left their cutie innocent self and now appears as a (rather) awkward celebrity persona (or so I said). Anyhow, the left picture (though I'm not really sure whether it has been photoshop-ed or not) is the one represent him the best at Hogwarts. I mean, the movie rarely presents him as a fine young man, maybe because of the red hair, I dunno. But that pic, yumm.. cute! So there you go, the once-adorable Ron Weasley. Daniel Radcliffe Once the uber-cute Harry Potter with a bright blue eyes, round glasses, proportional face and not too big of a head, but ...

Hurt Locker

Image
This is the second time I actually enjoyed an Oscar-winning movie. And this time it's The Hurt Locker. Like I said, I never heard of this movie production until it won The Oscar. And it took me quite some time to spare it and give it a try. Yeah, well.. not bad. Interesting plot line, or should I say, interesting theme? It's like watching Die Hard with sand background. The movie's scope is really tight, giving us a peek of how bomb squad actually worked in the war zone, and this time, the war zone being Iraq. The thing that actually poke my interest was when they found a body bomb. Wow, how on earth could people possibly do such thing? How? Really hope that the boy being killed has nothing to do with the bomb insertion, or is it they kill the boy so the could plant the bomb? That's freaking insane! Still has no idea what were they thinking. Are these guys even human? Do they really think they'll go to heaven (or receive some sort of reward afterward in the after lif...

Prosecutor Princess

Only one line that fairly represents this drama. People should give it a chance. Hahahahaha, having suffered the lowest rating among THREE parallel Tue-Wed dramas, people rarely glanced upon this one (since the competitors were Cinderella Sister and Personal Taste). So, when the real owner of "my" current hard disk requested this series to be downloaded, I did it reluctantly. But yeah, I'm thankful for that one reluctant move, for now I had the great experience of watching case after case presented in Prosecutor Princess. This drama tells us about a (more-or-less) Legally-Blonde-type of a prosecutor, and given that she's not blonde and clearly smarter, I expected a better version of a law-themed personality. This girl's apparently having trouble adjusting to the "common" culture of prosecutor life line (black suit, black car, black mood) and at first got ridiculed by her colleague. But eventually, she earned their respect anyway, having solved many i...

My Personal Taste

Image
A Korean drama that brought another light-pace plot and plenty of moronic hilarious scenes. The main theme was a bit confusing to sum up, but in general it's about a guy whom mistaken as a gay by this one particular sloppy girl.. one thing lead to another.. and then they ended up as roommate. I usually watched this in turn with Cinderella Sister for its healing effect after post-depression-syndrome caused by that sister-drama. The cast is the biggest drawn since the gay guy was played by Lee Minho , the infamous newcomer for his infamous character in Boys Over Flower (the Tao Ming Tse/Domyoji one) while the sloppy girl was played by Sohn Ye-Jin . Honestly I know nothing about this girl but after saw her acting in the first episode of Personal Taste, yes I adoreeee her immediately. Aside from its fun and adorable plot, the main thing I notice from Personal Taste was their fashion style. Hahahaha, so sue me, but I'm hooked by every blazer/jacket/coat/cardigan/outerwear th...

Cinderella's Sister (preview)

Best KDrama I've seen so far, I mean.. yeah, well, it fell into way much different category than City Hall but, yes, I think it's the best KDrama indeed. The powerful casting and absolutely thrilling scenarios, beautiful soundtrack AND the mood they set you upon watching each and every episodes of it. Dang, I love this one a lot. The main difference from the rest of KDrama (that I've seen) is that this is not mainly about romance. Audience won't be indulged by Love Love Love in scene after scene. It's more like family epic story, the twisted tale about Cinderella. The cast is perfect (have I said that?), there's the wealthy and loving father, greedy step-mother, the step-sister, Cinderella, the Prince, the Pauper... gyaaaah, love it love it love it. The story is pretty much like the original Cinderella tale, only the twist is that the Step-mother turn out to be more on Cinderella's side than the step sister (hence the title). The step-sister is played ...
