The Newsroom

Image
Never have I seen such heartwarming TV series that keep bringing up political issues, which is, really, hardly ever heartwarming in my dictionary. The Newsroom (2012), is a TV series about a broadcasting news team, working in independent cable TV station who changes their way of delivering the news. This is started when the second most watched news anchor, Will McAvoy ( Jeff Daniels ), was forced to work with the new team because his old team was migrating to 10 o'clock slot. The whole news format that was once a rating-whore show, drastically stirred their direction to producing-facts-only format and purely letting the viewers have more options in watching fact-confirmed, independent and honest news. Hmm, that was what I felt about Metro TV long long long time ago, back when they first showed up in my screen. It was a crazy ride, I'm telling you. I cried, I laughed, I spilled on my drinks, I dreamt about it, I had me some wistful thinking, ohmygodifreakinlovethisseries...

Marathon part 2

It's been seriously a while since I did my Western series recap. The last one was this one here so I guess it's been two years now, huh? Well... I think I started with the easiest one to remember just because it reminded me of what my working environment supposed to be like. Hahahahaha. You wish. It's SUITS , ladies and gentlemen. Yes I know, I'm way far behind this one, I just watched up to S02E04 *sob sob* but I think I love it. The main reason why I love this series is not because of Mike Ross *insert gasp of surprise here* but more because whomever I despise, they got rid of it soon. Yay. For example, the girlfriend of his best friend? Ha! Out of the line. There's a fine line between romantic hopeless unrequited love for someone you cannot/should not have (e.g. Pearl Harbor , New Moon - haha, Brothers - I'm freakin in love with it, My Bestfriend's Wedding , etc) and inappropriately do so. And SUITS just made my freakin bowel move when they did. B...

There are tons of series that I watched in the past couple of weeks since I have to burn 'em all to free some space in my computer. Hence, there’s a mixed (and matched) feeling goin on. Well, I started with Criminal Minds season 5, 'fcourse, and as always, after being too long on hiatus with this series, watching it again is like having a dejavu sensation of this creepy and obsession feeling all over. I nearly forgot how cruel its episodes could be. And yes, Reed (Matthew Gray-Gubler) is the director for episode 16. Oh that sweet guy... Then, moving forward, I gulped down House MD season 6. Well, House MD is always such an entertainment for twisted mind like mine, so yeah I adore that actually-pretty-perfect-husband-material series. Hahahaha, this old bastard is smart, can cook, play the instrument, ride the big fiasco of a motorcycle, acquire odd sense of humor, brutally honest, wickedly playful, and is an eye-candy. The only downsize is that he's such an ass. Like previ...

Whoops..

I only watched Gossip Girl season 3 for like only 10 episodes, and I went, "Ooof!" seeing how drastically changed each cast was. Dan Humphrey with his well-toned body, hullo? He's like this hunk emerged out of nowhere, and where the heck did the skinny-lumpy highschoolish boy go? Suddenly, he's hot! That's weird! I never like Dan's character, ever, but now I'm seriously considering changing my opinion. Chuck Bass - Blair Waldorf, well, this two has always been my favourite, but I gotta admit, I forgot how season 2 ended. So I was a bit confused when they're both settled up as a couple. At first, it was weird, but I'm loving each and every second of the scene after Chuck said something adorable to Blair, "Everytime you forget you're Blair Waldorf, just remember, I'm Chuck Bass, and I love you." Aaaaw... I actually squealed in my seat. Hahahahahahaha. Serena Van Der Woodsen. Well, I'm a bit tired of this character, honestly. I t...

Justice

I didn't realize Kerr Smith is still exist in this world. Okay, I'm exaggerate a bit, but yes I'm quite surprised. He turned out okay by definition and being phrase correctly chosen by his latest TV Series - Justice, 'the good-looking, all-American-face of not-guilty' lawyer. I also happened to not realized that he looks quite alike with Julian McMahon . Why why, what a beautiful small world we live in. Who is Kerr Smith anyway? Well, he's Andy's gay little brother in old-school-movie Dawson's Creek (used to love the series up until Pacey and Joey broke up.. again) Anyway, this TV series Justice is about a bunch of top-level-hot-shot lawyers called TNT&G (cute name me think) who, well, defending all 'innocent' trial-suspects out there. I'll admit, I just watched the first episode but I'm quite thrilled. Mostly because of that Kerr Smith guy, but that's come in nature, mind you. By the look of the movie, all the scenes were take...

How I met Your Mother?

Image
I have no idea what’s gotten into me, but after watching several episodes of How I Met Your Mother, the idea struck me like hell. This guy (the main actor) is very much resemblance of my friend. Oh-my-God. Not by the look, but by the way he talks and the way he thinks. Man, that suit him up quite a lot. Watch it people. He’s somewhat geeky and yet sometimes aspiring. The recent quote I call in fave was: Girl: We barely know each other, and you’re looking at me with that look, and it’s like.. it’s like.. *waving desperately* Boy: Like.. like what? Girl: Like “Let’s fall in love and get married and have kids and drive them to soccer practice” Boy: I’m not going to force sports on them unless they’re interested Girl: *Giggle* It’s a great look. But you’re looking at the wrong girl .

Prison Break (the next episode)

There's some things that once you got a hold of it, you just can't let it go . You'll just keep turning back and hang on to it. Like me, for example. I'll never get tired of watching new old series, and eventhough it kept me up and down the hills at times, but eventually I'll still continue watching them and voila, the very same story caught my interest once again. Yah, Prison Break for example. This series had long gone from its first season, and right now, starting their fourth one and I'm STILL interested in the plot. Hahahaha. Maybe you thought of me as a bit of megalomaniac addict to Michael Scofield, but I don't think so. Michael Scofield is chubbier now, compared to the first season (in which everytime you set your eyes upon him, you goes like "Aaargh, kill me, he's adorable.") So, no, his looks is not something I chase anymore, cause right now I'm looking at Sara Tancredi. Hehehehe, big spoiler, yes? Despite the ridiculous plo...

Dirty Sexy Money

Another new running series for this season. Oooh, how I love new series and its first season. Well, for those of you who have watched Gossip Girl , you probably gonna stick it out for this too.. whatever 'stick it out' means anyway.. First line said is interesting.. The love of money is the root of all evil. Dirty Sexy Money is about a filthy rich family, practically the richest dynasty lived in Manhattan (surprise surprise). And they're called The Darlings . So rich their only problem was to decide whether to spend 1 million USD for a bday party in a family house (like any normal kid would do) or in the middle of Brooklyn Bridge (which would acquire another million to prevent any other car to go through that bridge). Sick, huh? Nevertheless, I love the characters in the movie, they're just... unimaginable. There are seven members of the family, the parent and the 5 children. Specifically I love the character named Brian Darling , one of the children, 40 sumtin and work...
